An important part of a cars performance and driving experience lies in the way it handles. To deliver a complete, high-quality solution, BSR has taken responsibility for distributing Eibach’s products in the Swedish market. To widen the range we also offer shock absorbers from Bilstein, car handling systems from Öhlins and suspension bushes from Powerflex. With these collaborations we can provide a hard to beat range of chassis products including almost 4000 items that cover more than 16,000 car models.

What is the chassis?

The chassis refers to the vehicle’s suspension system and its ability to respond to road conditions, ensuring stability, comfort, and safety. It consists of various key components that work together to reduce vibrations, improve grip, and minimize the risk of oversteer or understeer in different driving situations. Understanding and optimizing your chassis setup is crucial for both driving performance and safety. By selecting the right components (lowering springs, lift springs, anti-roll bars, bushings, and dampers) you can significantly improve both ride quality and vehicle control.

Lowering springs

Lowering springs are a popular upgrade among car enthusiasts looking to improve their vehicle’s chassis performance and achieve a sportier appearance. By lowering the vehicle’s ride height, they reduce the center of gravity, resulting in better stability in corners and at higher speeds. This makes the car feel more agile and responsive. Lowering springs also help reduce body roll, giving a more planted and precise road feel.

Lift springs

For vehicles regularly driven on rough roads or off-road terrain, lift springs are an ideal choice. By raising the ride height, they improve the car’s ability to tackle uneven surfaces and obstacles without risking damage to the undercarriage. Lift springs also enhance comfort when driving on poor road surfaces.

Anti-roll bars

Anti-roll bars are crucial for maintaining chassis balance during cornering. They help prevent excessive body roll by distributing the forces between the wheels, increasing stability and maintaining better contact with the road. They’re essential for precise handling and a more controlled driving experience.

Suspension bushes

Suspension bushes are used to cushion and isolate movement between suspension components, such as between the springs and dampers. They reduce friction, wear, and vibrations that can affect comfort and control. Worn bushings can cause vague steering and reduced suspension performance.

Shock absorbers

Shock absorbers are one of the most critical components in any chassis system. Their primary role is to control the suspension’s movement and absorb impacts from road imperfections. This ensures the tires stay in constant contact with the road and improves both ride quality and control. Shock absorbers also refine steering response and chassis balance, especially under dynamic driving conditions.
