BSR presented the first type approved and reregistered ethanol converted Saab 9-5 in Stockholm on the 19th November. At the same time the Swedish Association of Green Motorists and the Swedish Centre Party held a press conference at their offices regarding environment bills and grants for environment vehicles. Among other things, the party’s views on environment vehicle subsidies, congestion taxes etc were presented by Claes Västerteg, vice chairman of the Committee of Agriculture and Environment.
Mattias Goldmann of the Swedish Association of Green Motorists presented the “New Swedish Motor Industry” by introducing companies that specialize in vehicle conversion.
Rolf Linde from BSR gave the members of the Swedish Parliament information about what needs to be done to stimulate vehicle conversion. Malte Sandberg, who started this ethanol wave, was also there to give his opinions on the actions needed to facilitate conversion.
Several news papers and magazines reported on this event, Metro, Expresen (Motor), Smålandsposten and others:

Regarding incorrect information on Swedish Television.
In a comment on Swedish Television on the 28th November it was reported that a car owner had had a driving ban imposed on his converted car. It was not clear that this was a simplified and not a type approved conversion.
Unfortunately it was not conveyed at the news broadcast either, that there are type approved conversions available. When using BSR’s E85 kits it is easy to reregister the vehicle. All required certificates are included in the kits. Several reregistrations of converted vehicles have been carried out by, among others, by the Swedish Motor-Vehicle Inspection Company.
We have pointed this out to the Swedish Television and hope they will correct the mistake.
