From July 1, 2008, we expect a new legislation regarding conversion to alternative fuels.
November 23, 2007, a legislation proposal was presented to the Council on Legislation regarding conversion of vehicles. The proposal suggests an amendment of the legislation regarding motor vehicle exhaust emissions control (2001:1080), meaning that vehicles converted from petrol or diesel to an alternative fuel (with a conversion kit) will be type approved and certified in regards of exhaust emissions control.
On January 7, the government bill was made public: Link

All that remains now is a decision by the Swedish Parliament and the new law is expected to take effect from July 1, 2008.
Recently the Government proposed that a converted vehicle will be certified as an “Eco Car”. Swedish link:

The decision means that a converted vehicle will undergo a new vehicle registration test. If the Swedish National Road Administration’s requirements are met, the vehicle can be reregistered as an “Eco Car”.
Details remaining now are the directions issued by the Swedish National Road Administration, the organisation of tests and certification system.
BSR has during this process forcefully acted as a referral body for the proposal and since 1997 we have actively worked for a certification system. See more information on our web site.
We still continue the development of conversion kits for a number of vehicles. We have E85 kits ready for our customers.
Our web site is being updated regarding “Environment” We will be back with more information.
