Environmental Projects - Environment

BSR are carrying out active research within several projects for the conversion to alternative fuels. Our projects in brief:
- In 1997 BSR converted a Volvo 945 to E85 on behalf of the Municipality of Växjö.
The car satisfies exhaust/emission standards that apply to petrol even with E85 and has been driven 160,000 kilometres without any problems whatsoever.

- The project was followed up by a further conversion of a Volvo 945 LPT for the Municipality of Aneby in 1999.

- In 1999 BSR also optimised a Volvo 945 LPT for a 50/50 mixture (50% ethyl alcohol and 50% petrol) which also incorporated a quick and simple conversion technique for 100% petrol. The car's owner is the former Environmental Manager in Växjö, Malte Sandberg, who has tested the car for some 70,000 kilometres.

- In 2000-2001 BSR converted a Skoda 1,8T to E85 on behalf of the Municipality of Växjö.
Emission tests, in accordance with EU norms show that we can satisfy the standards for petrol, even with the E85 fuel.

- BSR converts the world's first rally car for E85.

- BSR converts 2 fast Saabs for E85.
