Exhaust cleaning 2000 - Environment

In April 2000 the commission of enquiry into exhaust cleaning 2000 was made official.
BSR was appointed as one of the bodies of reference and carried out comprehensive lobbying related to "chip" tuning and environmental conversion.
At the same time, a number of politicians (including those in the Special Traffic Committee) became engaged in the question and this led to a number of motions being tabled on the subject. The Special Traffic Committee unanimously followed BSR's argument to introduce a certification system.
The result of this was that the government proposed the introduction of a certification system. This was later confirmed by the Minister of the Environment who believes that work should be run within the EU.
BSR's activities continue intensively to persuade the authorities to introduce a certification system and the indications are that, on a regional basis at least, proposals will soon be put forward, amongst others relating to environmental conversion.
