Vehicle warranty generally includes Exhaust Warranty and a Factory Warranty.
This information is according Swedish laws and valid for Sweden registerad vehicles.

Exhaust Warranty
The car manufacturers are by law required to give a so-called Exhaust Warranty. This means that if any component of the exhaust emission control device breaks or does not work adequately so that the exhaust emission values are no longer within the required range, replacement or repair must be carried out, at no cost for the car owner.
For vehicles manufactured in 2005 or earlier, this warranty is valid up to 80 000 kilometres or for five years (whatever comes first). For vehicles from 2006 or newer, the warranty is for 100 000 kilometres or ten years.

The responsibility for this exhaust warranty must be assumed by the conversion company, but is limited to the components that can be affected by the conversion kit.
The car manufacturer is thus still responsible for general problems that can occur.

Factory Warranty
Most car manufacturers give a factory warranty, for instance for 2 years. During this time any faults that may occur must be fixed at no cost for the car owner. There are some exceptions to this, such as wear and tear and the condition that the car must be serviced according to the manufacturer’s directions.

If the car is converted before two years, from the registration date, parts of this factory warranty can become invalid. If you are planning warranty repairs for your car, check with the garage that they accept the replaced parts at no cost for you.

Several insurance companies have announced that the car's regular machine warranty, generally a part of the insurance against material damage, will be fully valid if the car has been reregistered for a different fuel. Se which insurance companies, according to a survey by di.se.

Machine warranty can be taken out with most insurance companies and is valid for up to 5 years and 100 000 kilometres. This kind of insurance usually entails an excess should any damage occur.

Contact your insurance company in this matter when you convert your car and reregister it with the Swedish Motor-Vehicle Inspection Co. Make sure that the car has valid insurance against material damage, including machine warranty.

You can also take out a similar machine warranty with BSR, for instance if you install a conversion that is not yet certified or if you have not reregistered your car yet.

Product Warranty
BSR will give the regular 2 year product warranty, according to the Consumer Protection Act, on the products we supply, regardless of the age of the car. This includes parts of the conversion kit and any cost of labour for the replacement.
